The windowpane test is a bread-making technique that helps decide if a dough’s gluten network is properly developed.  In other words, if you pass the windowpane test, then the dough is strong. It can hold its shape. The dough’s gluten network is properly developed.

After mixing and kneading, stretch the dough out as thin as possible. Do this without tearing it. Check if you can see light passing through.
